I have never been so close to death!Not through anything interesting like sexual exhaustion through my wife, but through the dreaded w word. Ive never known it would be so hard! It all started two weeks ago, i was just walking down the road, on a pleasant autumn day,and Gary came running upto me, he looked as though he had seen a ghost. It took a while to get it out of him but eventually he informed me of the disaster that was to ruin my life. We were required to go to this specific room called the red room or something(sounded like some kind of torture place, where they would swap our heads round with our legs or something, i would have been so lucky.) A few of our friends had been there a few weeks before, but noone had heard from them since, i had been worried about them but now it all seemed to make sense, they never made it out alive. If only i had known. I would have never been sucker punched into going in. Gary had heard the stories too, hence why he was so frightened. I had to put a brave face on to get him through it. I knew we had to go in, our future depended on it, the truth was i never really had a weak bladder at all, thats just what i told gary on our way to that room, really i had to make three different pairs of pants out of the loo paper, but i couldnt show him my fear, he needed me to get him through it. We made it outside the room and the sounds were eerie, but we couldnt make anything out. The door was in front of us and lay slightly ajar, so i pushed gary through it, that may have been harsh but i decided i was more valuable than him. i waited a few seconds before i followed him in, it was dark, real dark, smelled real bad, as if dead carcasses had been laying in there for weeks. It was a big room, bigger than it looked from the outside, there were chairs everywhere, as if they were ready to perform operations or something, with small tables next to each one. Felt like we had entered our very own horror film. Then the lights went on and people crowded us in, it got real cramped, i thought we had a hillsborough disaster on our hands. Soon though it calmed down and an authoritive attractive woman came in and beckoned us to sit down( Bit like a dream i had the night before). It was worse than i ever imagined. The lights went out and the women started to talk to us all and play video clips about animation, i looked around and everyone was so calm. Me and Gary were sweating bucket loads we did'nt know what was going on, were they trying to brain wash us?Should we shut our eyes? We didnt know what to do. But then after suffering for two straight hours, she hit us with it. We were to do an animation project, to be in in two weeks. There was outrage, i have never seen anything like it, suddenly everyone woke up and ran for the door, me and Gary followed in the panic, i fell but managed to roll to one side before gary dragged me back to my feet. That was the last i saw of him. I lost him when we got outside of the room, he was a nice guy, one of the best i ever knew. I had to spend the next two weeks in care, suffering doing this project thing. But dont despair i made it through and im back, still a bit shaken, but recovering well, later someone was to tell me what i had just been through, it was called a lecture. The word still brings anxiety to me, i dont know if i will ever be the same again. I just pray none of you ever have to go through an ordeal like that. Never again.

I have a method which i use myself when dealing with the big L and W words, its called drink my friend. Usually i have a couple of pints in the union, or a few shots if its a tough one, before i go into the lecture or seminar. This helps me over come my immense fear and sheer horror as the lecturer outlines the work and subject matter to be delt with. But on a lucky day i drink so much that i completely forget i have some where to be, and either go home, to the bar again or to Tobys. Rounding off a typical uni day in the life of Michael D.

Sorry to hear of your horror dibbens, I know working is difficualt. I bet you thought that you would just be watching videos at uni didn't you. How wrong you were!
The films were good last night (Airheads and the 6th Day) but I'm very tyred now.
And do you really have a Red Lecture room dibbs or was that just to add effect???(or have I been hanging around with Rachel for too long and am unable to tell the difference between reality annd non-realty, or am I just not making any sence at all? Help!!!)

I know exactly how dibbs feels, I almost went to a lecture once too once. Right now i'm supposed to be writing my economics essay. Its gotta be 1500 words long, and at the moment its about half as long as Dibbs post, so nearly there then.

remember i am assistant musical director,ie i helped teach the cast their songs and get them to sing it well by drilling them all,playing while they choreographed them, plus am playing in the band.
The Scarlet Pimpernel
This year, the Cambridge Footlights pantomime is a refreshing take on the tale of The Scarlet Pimpernel.
With everything that you could possibly hope to expect from a pantomime, except a comedy wallpapering scene, this year's Footlights/ADC pantomime is truly inspired.
Like one of the bodices that adorned the stage, the show is full to bursting with song, dance, audience participation, mistaken identity, a paper thin plot and cross-dressing. But what makes it special is that amongst all the traditional elements of panto is something very different. Namely a tight script from Day Macaskill and Ed Weeks that I found to be really - and not just groaningly - funny.
Another highlight was the musical numbers. Apart from the well-drilled and exuberant song and dance routines, the music was a refreshing change from the usual pantomime fare of the latest chart tunes. The original compositions from composer Ed Weeks (again!) were suitably rousing and cleverly seemed to nod towards and satirise the big West End hits of the past few years. Les Mis was the most obvious but towards the end, Francois in his mask, singing to his angel, bore a spooky resemblance to the Phantom - albeit without the chandelier!
It is therefore all credit to a strong and talented cast that they worked well together and pressed on through their difficulties with enthusiasm and vigour to ensure that the production was a success, and provide a hugely enjoyable and entertaining evening for their audience.

wow becca, i read the reveiw on that web address (the bbc-hehehehehe) it soundsreally good, i am very proudof you my dear. Matty andmyself wouldreally like to come and see it, but unfortunatly we can't get a lift there, cos no one else wants to go. I am!!!!!!!!!! remember i had to write an essay in 3 hours a coupla weeks ago? well i got it back, and i got a 2 1!!!! as he was handing it back he tried to look thru for mistakes id made to talk about, and said that there werent really any cos it was a good essay!! hahahaha who says that being disorganised is a bad thing?!!!!
anyway ive now finished for this term yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no more lectures or supervisions, only 3 more panto performances, oh, ive got an evil meeting with my dos tomoz morn  but then im finished!! heehee back home on sun!!
